The Al-Ándalus train was launched in 1985 as a way of touring and exploring Andalucía. Following several setbacks, the train ceased operations in 2005 and was stabled in Sevilla. In 2011, the train was meticulously restored and redecorated, and started travelling again in 2012, this time on Iberian gauge tracks. The wider gauge created more interior space, which, along with a length of around 500 metres, makes Al-Ándalus a real palace on wheels. This is a journey back to the Belle époque of exquisiteness and sophistication, with today’s technology.
